Police have revoked an earlier emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) following a reported incident at Glenview.

Officers were called to an area near Old Caloundra Road about 11.14am following reports a stolen red Mitsubishi Outlander had crashed, and its occupants fled the area into nearby bushland.

The Mitsubishi Outlander was reportedly stolen near a business on the Bruce Highway at Morayfield about 5.45am, with the vehicle’s driver reportedly threatened with a firearm.

Due to potential officer and public safety concerns, an emergency declaration was declared at 12.55pm.

Specialist officers attended the scene and conducted a search of the nearby area, where a firearm was located abandoned.

Following further inquires, the emergency declaration was revoked just after 3.10pm.

Both the stolen Mitsubishi and the firearm have been seized for forensic testing.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing, and anyone who may have any relevant information or video footage are urged to come forward.
