A man has been winched to safety after slipping on a rock and falling three metres at a waterfall in a national park.

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew was tasked to Summer Falls, west of Kenilworth in Conondale National Park, about 3.30pm yesterday.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics provided initial ground treatment to the patient for a back injury and abrasions before the helicopter arrived.

The LifeFlight rescue crew officer and critical care QAS flight paramedic were winched down to retrieve the teenager.

He was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
