A much-loved festival will return to the Sunshine Coast next month, promising an afternoon of live music, food and family fun.

Pumicestone Rocks will take over Central Park at Pelican Waters on September 14 with a line-up of Sunshine Coast bands.

Crowds can look forward to sets from Tommy Catz, Full Circle, Wasted Talent and Escape Plann, featuring nostalgic favourites from 1970s through to the 2000s.

The event was originally due to be held in May, however was postponed due to wet weather.

Successfully running since 2021, Pelican Waters CEO Hamish Pressland said the festival was fast becoming a highlight on the Sunshine Coast events calendar.

“Pumicestone Rocks is all about community – great music, relaxed vibes and supporting the people and place we love,” he said.

The music line-up will feature Sunshine Coast bands.

“So many locals have asked when it’s coming back and we’re thrilled to deliver another unforgettable day.”

The family-friendly festival encourages people to walk, cycle or scoot to the park, bringing along a picnic rug or chair to settle in for the afternoon.

Festivalgoers can enjoy brews from Your Mates Brewing, plus a range of wines and bites from local food trucks, as well as activities for children.

Hosted in partnership with the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce, the event celebrates the southern Sunshine Coast’s vibrant community spirit.

The family-friendly event will offer something for all ages, including children’s activities.

This year’s sponsors include The Cove Comino, Henzells Agency, Pelican Waters Marina and SEE Civil.

The event will run from 11am to 4pm at Central Park, Spitfire Banks Drive, Pelican Waters. Tickets are $15 for adults, while children under 12 can attend free.

All profits from the day will go to Night Eyes, a volunteer group dedicated to keeping Caloundra’s waterways and foreshores clean and safe. Tickets are available here.
