Scores of new defibrillators are being rolled out to Sunshine Coast ambulances, giving paramedics more life-saving tech.
One hundred of the devices are being delivered around the region, as part of a $10 million statewide distribution of 1400 of the machines.
The new devices measure heart rhythms, blood pressure, oxygen levels and respiration rates, while advanced data integration allows paramedics to share results instantly with Brisbane specialists, giving patients quicker access to expert advice.
Member for Caloundra Kendall Morton said the defibrillator rollout was essential to deliver critical healthcare to the local community.
“Our Easier Access to Health Services Plan will deliver the critical health services when you need them most,” she said.

“We are investing in these defibrillators because they will save lives and equip our paramedics with the technology needed to deliver world-class healthcare to the Sunshine Coast community.”
Ms Morton said the state government was determined to decrease ramping and deliver more elective surgery sooner.
QAS Queensland Ambulance Service medical director Daniel Bodnar said the new technology delivered significant improvements for crews in rural and regional areas.
“Our rural paramedics often work without specialist back-up, so being able to share patient data instantly with our clinical teams means faster, better care,” he said.
