A Bli Bli man has been charged with several serious offences following an alleged dangerous driving incident in Brisbane’s north yesterday.

It will be alleged that about 1.20pm on Wednesday, police were called to the Bruce Highway near the northbound Murrumba Downs exit following reports of shots being fired from a vehicle.

Officers arrived on scene a short time later and observed a black Commodore, matching the description of the vehicle, before it allegedly evaded police and re-entered the Bruce Highway at North Lakes, travelling north.

It will be further alleged that, while tracked by PolAir, the vehicle continued to Morayfield before turning around and travelling back to Carseldine, then through several suburbs, until the successful deployment of a tyre-deflation device at Mount Samson.

The vehicle then continued for a short time before being dumped at Watson Road, Armstrong Creek, where its two occupants fled the vehicle.

With the assistance of police dog Stryker, officers were able to locate both occupants near Watson Road and take them into custody.

Initial searches of the vehicle were unable to locate any firearms, however investigations into these incidents remain ongoing and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

A 26-year-old Bli Bli man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle, obstruct police officer, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property, possessing dangerous drugs, possess utensils that had been used, and endangering the safe use of vehicles and related transport infrastructure.
