Runners residing in one of the Coast’s newest residential estates have hit a big community fitness milestone.
Active residents at Harmony in Palmview celebrated the estate’s 100th parkrun earlier this month.
The weekly fitness event is officially part of parkrun, a series of free, timed 5km fun runs (or walks) held at various locations across the Coast on Saturday mornings.

Since the Palmview event launched in 2023 it has welcomed nearly 2500 runners who have clocked more than 1000 personal bests on the scenic 5km course. Each Saturday it attracts about 70 participants.
The free parkrun is backed by Harmony developer AVID Property Group.
AVID general manager Queensland Anthony Demiris said he was happy to see Harmony’s parkrun reach the milestone.
“It has been exciting to see our parkrun build such a loyal following and create a space for all to enjoy the more than 100 hectares of lush green space our neighbourhood has to offer,” Mr Demiris said.
Harmony Boulevard’s parkrun will mark its second anniversary on Saturday August 9.

Local resident and parkrun run director Jo Donohue launched the event to bring community members of all fitness levels together.
“Thanks to AVID’s foundational grant, ongoing promotion and continuous support, Harmony Boulevard parkrun has grown into a vibrant, welcoming weekly tradition that draws locals and visitors from far and wide,” Ms Donohue said.
