Police have charged a man following an assault on the Sunshine Coast.
Emergency services were called to a venue on Currie Street at Nambour at around 2.33pm on Tuesday after reports a man had been allegedly stabbed.
Police will allege a 41-year-old Nambour man was involved in an altercation and then ran from the scene.
Police located the man in Petrie Park and took him into custody without incident around 3.43pm.
The 41-year-old Nambour man was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public space.
He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
A 33-year-old Charleville man was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threating injuries.
The men are believed to be known to each other.
Anyone with information or dashcam vision in the area at the time are urged to contact police.
Investigations are ongoing.
EARLIER: A man has been taken to hospital after suffering multiple wounds in an alleged stabbing this afternoon.
The incident occurred on Currie Street, Nambour, just after 2.30pm.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said a man had been taken into custody.
“Emergency services were called to a venue on Currie Street around 2.33pm after reports a man had been stabbed,” they said.
“One man has sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
“The second man reportedly involved in the altercation ran from the scene.
“Police located the man in Petrie Park and took him into custody around 3.43pm.
“The men are believed to be known to each other.
“Anyone with information or dashcam vision in the area at the time are urged to contact police.”
The Queensland Ambulance Service earlier reported that the patient was in a life-threatening condition and taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.
