An eco-resort in the Sunshine Coast hinterland has unveiled a series of upgrades to its rainforest retreat, as well as a transformation of its restaurant.

The 23-cabin Kondalilla Eco Resort, located on nine hectares at the edge of Kondalilla National Park, close to Kondalilla Falls, has upgraded its roadways and access points as part of the improvements.

Each cabin has also been updated with modern touches, and a new website has been launched with enhanced navigation and information on packages and specials.

The retreat’s Kondalilla Restaurant has also been transformed into a modern Australian dining destination.

It now features a seasonal, locally inspired menu that celebrates regional produce, ethically sourced seafood and premium meats.

On the menu are dishes such as karaage chicken burger, crispy skin barramundi, wagyu rump steak, mushroom pasta and Thai calamari, and homemade desserts served with Maleny gelato.

Kondalilla Restaurant has had a transformation.

Resort manager Jaqui Freeman explained why the upgrades were made.

“Our goal was to honour the natural beauty and peaceful spirit of Kondalilla while enhancing the comfort, accessibility and overall experience for our guests,” she said.

“These upgrades reflect our commitment to sustainable hospitality and creating a truly memorable escape, whether you’re here for a quiet cabin stay, a celebration with loved ones or simply to enjoy good food and live music in a beautiful setting.”

The restaurant’s new offerings include a breakfast service on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8am, open to both resort guests and the public.

The retreat is nestled into rainforest on the edge of Kondalilla National Park.

A cocktail hour is on every Thursday and Friday from 4-6pm, and live music performances will be held on Sunday afternoons, showcasing local talent. The restaurant also includes an enclosed children’s play area.
