A man has been flown to hospital in Brisbane in a life-threatening condition after a crash in the Sunshine Coast hinterland last night.

The two-truck crash occurred about 10.25pm on Kilcoy Beerwah Road at Cedarton, south of Maleny.

A police spokesperson said one truck collided with the rear of another truck at roadworks.

The driver of one truck, a 57-year-old man, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The Queensland Ambulance Service reported that the man had a head injury.

The driver of the other truck, a 69-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit is assisting Workplace Health and Safety with their investigations.
