Free subs will be available from a Subway bus at a popular Sunshine Coast beach, as the fast food giant’s 2000km promotional tour gets underway.

The Sub Bus will be at Kings Beach on Saturday, from 10am to 3pm, to begin its 10-stop and 22-day journey along the east coast.

More than 7500 subs are expected to be delivered during the mass sampling tour, which celebrates the launch of the biggest shake-up in the brand’s Australian menu history.

Visitors to the bus will be able to enjoy virtually unlimited free sample sized subs, along with games and Subway merchandise. Partners Smith’s and Lipton will be on board to give away chips and ice tea with every sub sample.

Subway Australia & New Zealand Director of Marketing Rodica Titeica said the tour highlighted the group’s new Signature Menu, which features set items designed to take the guesswork out of ordering “to make life easier and tastier”.

The new menu was launched in February and two new subs, the Philly-Style Three-Cheese Steak and the Deli Supreme, were added to it last month.

Three new chicken subs and wraps will be launched while the Sub Bus is on the road, giving those who visit the events an exclusive first taste.

“Our guests are already discovering new favourites on the Signature Menu,” Ms Titeica said.

“We’re expecting the new rotisserie-style chicken to be a crowd favourite, so watch this space, with even more exciting flavours launching midway through the Sub Bus tour.

“Subway is passionate about promoting better living through great tasting, freshly made menu options.

“The Sub Bus tour is our way of giving back to our fans and making some new ones along the way as we travel along the east coast of Australia to share the sub love.”

The bus’ ‘Tasty Town Tour’ will also visit destinations in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

The Sub Bus visit follows a similar promotional visit from Aldi. The grocery chain’s retro truck came to the Sunshine Coast and sold ice creams from 36 cents.
