An extravagant Sunshine Coast residence is expected to attract a hefty sum after it was placed on the market.

No.25 Glenn Vista Place at Chevallum was listed last week and immediately garnered attention from interstate and around the world, including the United States, England and Egypt.

The five-bedroom, six-bathroom, 14-car space property boasts European grandeur on more than four hectares.

The 1240sqm home was awarded the Master Builders Sunshine Coast House of the Year when it was built in 2012.

It features 9m ceilings, oversized double doors, Italian flagstone flooring, French chandeliers, Portuguese limestone fireplaces, intricate ceiling roses, multiple entertaining areas, a two-room pantry, a Baroque bath and a lap pool with gazebo.

There is a self-contained artist’s studio on the property, which also includes manicured gardens with irrigation system, a lake, dog run, large shed and antique statues.

Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty Maroochydore senior sales executive Melissa Schembri said the residence was a rarity.

“It’s one of the most opulent homes we’ve ever seen on the Sunshine Coast,” she said.

“There’s not really anything like it.

No.25 Glenn Vista Parade’s expansive pool and outdoor area.

“It’s stunning. You walk inside and your breath is taken away.

“It’s hard to believe until you see it.”

Ms Schembri said a husband-and-wife had the mansion carefully designed and built.

“They chose one of the most private blocks they could find on the Sunshine Coast that was still close to town, and they had the means and the know-how to create it,” she said.

“She has interior design flair and has travelled the world and seen some beautiful things, and she wanted to create something magical.

“You walk into it and it seems like it was built centuries ago but everything is in mint condition because it’s only 12 years old.”

Many of the design elements were crafted overseas, including in South Africa, Italy, England and the United States.

The property was put on the market last year but subsequently withdrawn.

Ms Schembri said the couple were motivated to sell it this time, having purchased a cattle farm near Conondale.

It is expected to change hands for between $11 million and $15 million.

“I’ve already had about 15 inquiries,” Ms Schembri said.

“It’s really popular and has attracted interest from around the world and from interstate.”

She said the location was perfect.

“It’s very private but still very close to town,” she said.
