Police are appealing for public assistance following a serious traffic crash early Saturday morning.

About 1.45am, a black 2018 Harley Davidson FXBRS Breakout was travelling eastbound on Caloundra Road, near the Bruce Highway, at Meridan Plains when it has crashed.

The rider, a 51-year-old Burpengary East man, sustained a serious injury to his foot.

He was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Investigations indicate that prior to the crash there was a second motorbike travelling north on the Bruce Highway with the Harley Davidson.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam vision to contact police. Quote this reference number: QP2500445995.
