A woman has been taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, after a crash that injured five people on the Sunshine Coast.

The woman, in her 60s, was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with serious head injuries after the two-vehicle incident at Mons and Mons School Road on Friday at 6.30pm.

Sunshine Coast Health confirmed the woman was in a critical condition on Saturday.

The Queensland Ambulance Service stated that six paramedic units attended the scene, where they treated five people.

A woman in her 20s, with arm and abdominal injuries, a man with minor injuries and a  boy and a girl, both with neck and abdominal injuries, were taken to SCUH in stable conditions.

Police attended the crash.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the incident was being investigated.

“The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing to anyone who may have information that may assist to come forward.”
