A man and a woman face a combined 21 charges after an alleged stolen vehicle was intercepted on the Sunshine Coast.
The Queensland Police Service said that they were called to Maroochydore following reports of a suspicious vehicle, on November 17 at about 5.30pm.
Upon arrival, police will allege the stolen vehicle, a blue Ford Everest displaying false plates, was driven in a dangerous manner.
POLAIR tracked the vehicle to a Bruce Highway southbound exit at Coochin Creek, where the vehicle allegedly attempted to evade police, the vehicle was damaged and came to a stop on the highway.
Police will allege the man, armed with a weapon, then entered an Audi A3.
He was taken into custody a short time later.
A woman was taken into custody, 200m down the highway, soon after without incident.
The Ford Everest was alleged to have been stolen from a Lawnton address on November 19.
The 31-year-old man has been charged with 17 offences including two counts of serious assault police whilst armed, and one count each of unlawful entry of vehicle, unlawful passion of weapon used to commit indictable offence, possess explosives, possess dangerous drugs, enter and commit, receive tainted property, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, drive disqualified, unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, and fix false plates.
He was also charged with three counts of failing to appear, two counts of breach of bail and 23 charges for unrelated matters.
The 20-year-old woman has been charged with four offences including unauthorised use of a motor vehicle and breach of bail condition.
She was also charged with two counts of failing to appear and 36 charges for unrelated matters.
They were both remanded into custody, to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 20.
Police are appealing to anyone with information or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the vehicle between 5pm to 6pm, to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing.
