Thursday, December 19: Detectives from Sunshine Coast Child Protection Investigation Unit have charged a 26-year-old man with an additional 14 charges following investigations into the alleged indecent treatment of children.

Police charged the man with 12 counts of indecent treatment of children and three counts of wilful exposure earlier this week after he allegedly offended against two children known to him in a professional capacity in the surfing industry on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast since August last year.

Ongoing investigations have identified an alleged additional two victims and investigations regarding those children are ongoing.

A search warrant at a Gympie property on December 18 also led to further charges.

The Peregian Springs man has been charged with four counts of indecent treatment of children, two counts of making child exploitation material, two counts of using carriage service access child abuse material, two counts of wilful exposure, two counts of grooming children under 16 and one count each of possessing child exploitation material and damaging evidence with intent.

He was due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on December 19.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and are appealing to anyone who may have experienced similar to come forward.

Monday, December 16: Detectives from the Sunshine Coast Child Protection Investigation Unit have charged a man following investigations into the alleged indecent treatment of children.

It will be alleged the 26-year-old Peregian Springs man committed a number of offences against two children known to him in a professional capacity in the surfing industry.

It will be further alleged the offences were committed in Broadbeach, Coolum Beach, Yaroomba and the greater Noosa area since August last year.

Police arrested the man on Sunday and have charged him with 12 counts of indecent treatment of children and three counts of wilful exposure.

He was due before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, December 16.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the matter and are appealing to anyone who may have experienced similar to come forward.
