A man reported missing from Mount Beerwah since Sunday has been found dead.

The 20-year-old Mountain Creek man’s body was located by emergency services crews walking the western track.

Rescue 511 confirmed the discovery of the man on the north-western face of the mountain.

Police and emergency services are now working to recover the body.

The man was last heard from about 1pm on Sunday and significant search and rescue efforts had been ongoing since then on foot and from the air.

The death is being treated as non-suspicious and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
