An over-50s community with 431 architecturally designed homes and resort-style facilities has been launched by a leading development company.

Halcyon Coves will become Stockland’s sixth land-lease community on the Sunshine Coast. It will be located in the Aura masterplanned community at Caloundra South.

It follows the success of Halcyon Parks at Caloundra, Halcyon Landing and Halcyon Lakeside at Bli Bli, Halcyon Nirimba also at Aura, and B by Halcyon at Buderim.

The facilities will include a lagoon-style pool and clubhouse, pickleball courts, community gardens and bowling green.

It will also feature a communal hub known as The Horizon, a state-of-the-art recreation precinct for entertainment, creativity, health and wellness.

Halcyon Coves will launch its first release in June 2024.

Stockland project director Andrew Astorquia said as Aura continued to grow, there had been interest from multiple generations of families looking to live in closer to one another.

“As one of the largest masterplanned communities, Aura provides a range of housing options – from first homeowners through to large family homes and, with the addition of our Halcyon communities, those looking to downsize,” Mr Astorquia said.

“Aura is a thriving community with a number of great schools, shopping, dining, recreational activities and essential services, and homeowners at Halcyon Coves will have convenient access to these facilities too.

The community will feature a resort-style swimming pool.

“From evenings at the bar and pickleball matches, to a game of pool with neighbours, painting, catching a movie or just reading a book in the library, every style and taste is catered for.”

Halcyon Coves will be located along the northern edge of the Bells Creek South conservation area. Upon completion, it will span 20 hectares.

Homes in the community will have a seven-star Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) rating.

The land-lease model gives residents the opportunity to free up capital with no stamp duty or deferred management fees, and homeowners retain all capital gains.

The launch of Halcyon Coves follows the recent recognition of Stockland’s B by Halcyon, in Buderim, as Australia’s Best in Seniors Living at the Urban Development Institute of Australia National Awards for Excellence.
