Two men have been transported to hospital from Sunshine Coast Airport after fumes were reported in the cockpit of a Bonza flight from Avalon Airport near Melbourne.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were called to the airport at 4.30pm yesterday after reports of fumes onboard flight AB570.

The QAS said the two men, aged in their 40s and 50s, were transported to Nambour Hospital in stable conditions with “very minor symptoms”.

No other occupants required QAS assistance.

A Bonza spokesperson said the aircraft landed without incident.

“Bonza is investigating reports of fumes onboard flight AB570 travelling from Melbourne Avalon to the Sunshine Coast,” they said.

“All customers and crew are well and have disembarked, with pilots undergoing precautionary checks.

“The aircraft is currently being assessed by engineers.”
