One hundred residences have been sold at a three-building beach resort, which is being built to cater for a variety of buyer needs.

The sales milestone was reached at Lowanna Beach Resort, which is being developed at Buddina by Lorna Willis, and is expected to be completed during the next six months.

The 112 residential apartment and five commercial unit off-the-plan project has had strong sales inquiry from the first release in 2021.

Ms Willis said she was delighted to see 100 sales reached.

“(It) is an incredible milestone and I’m so proud of and grateful for everyone who’s been a part of the Lowanna Beach Resort journey so far,” she said via a media release.

She said the project could have reached the 100th sale far sooner because of strong interest but the apartments were being released in stages.

“It is not uncommon for projects such as this to strategically release real estate product, timing the market to support increasing project costs, and we started off doing just that,” she said.

“However, circumstances have changed for the community in which we are building, and we felt compelled to do our best to support and accommodate these needs.”

Due to the increasing demand for property across the Sunshine Coast, and seeing the construction teams meet their build milestones, Ms Willis said she chose to “put people over profit” and released the final apartments ahead of construction completion. They’re now available for sale, priced from $1.24m.

“I’m sure our development could have made a lot more money selling the final apartments after the building’s completion in six month’s time, but I know that there are so many people wanting to live on the Sunshine Coast without enough housing currently available, and I felt that by releasing the final apartments now, we could give some certainty and security to those looking to make their next move in this region,” she said.

With a range of apartment types from one-bedroom apartments to dual-key living and spacious two- and three-bedroom apartments, the resort has continued to garner interest from a range of buyer types.

“The Sunshine Coast needs more of all types of property and we were able to consider the different buyer needs when designing Lowanna Beach Resort because of the unique zoning,” she said.

“We’ve catered to first home buyers, downsizers, investors and holidaymakers all in the one resort, and it’s been very well received by the market.”

While Ms Willis has been involved in every aspect of the project’s decision-making, she has also been using the project as a learning tool for others.

“Not only do we celebrate this sales milestone with our development, sales and construction teams, but I also share this joy with my group of WOW Property Women who have been following this project’s journey with me as I teach them everything that goes into a successful development project so they may one day run their own projects, “ she said.
