Ukraine’s ambassador to Australia will visit the Sunshine Coast this week for a special live interview event.

Vasyl Myroshnychenko will share the stage with Federal Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace on Friday in A Live Conversation on Russia’s War in Ukraine.

Mr Wallace, who serves as the deputy chair of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security, said Australia continued to call on Russia to cease its unprovoked, unjust and illegal war.

“Ambassador Myroshnychenko has been a fierce and formidable advocate for Ukraine, standing up for peace and justice in the face of Russia’s illegal and immoral aggression and tyranny,” he said.

“Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the ambassador has played a crucial role in his nation’s defence as a diplomat and adviser.

“His unique perspective and diplomatic experience offer him a unique vantage point from which to discuss Russia’s war in Ukraine, and it is a real honour to be able to host him on the Sunshine Coast.

“I know that most Australians join with democratic allies the world over in pursuing all avenues available to hold Russia to account, to support Ukraine, and to defend our global rules-based order.”

Andrew Wallace talks with Caloundra-based defence manufacturer Eniquest founder and CEO Don Pulver.

Australia’s support for Ukraine has included 120 Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles, which have diesel generators by Caloundra-based defence manufacturer Eniquest.

“I am very proud of the local link in our support for Ukraine with the in-demand vehicles that are saving lives on the Ukrainian frontline,” Mr Wallace said.

He said the free event would not have been possible without the support of Mercure Sunshine Coast Kawana Waters and venue host Anthem Church.

Attendees will have the opportunity to contribute to global humanitarian efforts in support of the people of Ukraine.

Bookings are essential and places are limited, via Trybooking.
