An upgrade to a Sunshine Coast holiday park is expected to make “a big difference” for visitors.

Sunshine Coast Council has delivered a new, modern amenities building and improvements to existing facilities at Dicky Beach Holiday Park.

Councillor Terry Landsberg said the $1.5m project was an important investment.

“Dicky Beach Holiday Park is a favourite for locals and visitors, and these new facilities make it an even better place to stay,” he said.

“We’ve created a space that is modern, practical and welcoming for everyone who comes here.”

The new amenities building features contemporary toilets, showers and wash areas, with an improved layout that makes it easier for guests to move through the space.

Upgrades to the existing amenities building, including a new roof, will also improve durability and reduce maintenance needs.

“This is about providing clean, reliable and easy-to-use facilities that meet current expectations,” he said.

“It’s an improvement that makes a big difference to people’s stay.”

The project includes fully accessible and ambulant-compliant facilities, helping ensure the park can be enjoyed by people of all abilities.

Upgraded pathways and better site access further improve safety and convenience for all users.

Designed for coastal conditions, the facilities use durable materials that will stand up to the environment and support long-term use.

Landscaping and surrounding works have also been completed, helping the new amenities blend in with the natural character of the park.

Cr Landsberg said the upgrade would strengthen the appeal of Dicky Beach as a destination.

“High-quality facilities encourage people to stay longer and come back again,” he said.

“That’s good for our local businesses and supports jobs across our region.”
