A primary school-aged girl has been injured after being struck by a car in Burnside on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to Windsor Road about 3.15pm following reports of a crash involving a child and a vehicle.

QAS said the girl suffered head and leg injuries and was treated by paramedics before being transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle was being assessed at the scene as of 4pm, and police have also remained on site.

Police did not confirm any road closures due to the incident.
