The husband of a skincare company founder was possibly hit in the head with a hammer as well as fatally stabbed during a home invasion, a magistrate has heard.
Zdravko Bilic, husband of HUD Skin + Body Melbourne skincare company founder Gry Tomte, was found dead in the front yard of his home on the Sunshine Coast on July 14, 2025.
His widow attended Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday but remained outside the courtroom as a committal hearing got underway for a teen charged with his murder.
Kieysha Jade Sky, 19, faces murder, vehicle theft and home break-in charges.
Her defence barrister David Jones KC cross-examined four witnesses, including forensic pathologist Jack Garland.
Dr Garland testified that an autopsy found a blunt force injury to the back of Mr Bilic’s head delivered with enough force to break the skin.
It was consistent with the use of a hammer, he said.
“It was found to be capable of causing this injury, it does not exclude any other implement from having done it,” Dr Garland said.
Magistrate Andrew Sinclair heard the autopsy could not find whether the head injury was caused before or after a fatal stab wound.

Mr Bilic was found to have multiple bruises and abrasions on his limbs and torso but no defence wounds from a knife attack.
The autopsy did not reveal any evidence that Mr Bilic was knocked unconscious by the head wound, Dr Garland said.
A young man and woman also testified they heard shouting and saw two people running to get in a car that sped away from near Mr Billic’s Warana home in the minutes after he was allegedly murdered.
Mr Jones conceded there was a prima facie case, leading to Sky being ordered to face a Brisbane Supreme Court trial at a later date.
Sky said “no” when asked by the magistrate if she wished to enter a plea or say anything in response.
She waved and smiled to five supporters in court.
Police alleged Mr Bilic was stabbed twice after disturbing a break-in about 11.30pm on July 13 – about 20 hours before his body was found.
Ms Tomte was not home at the time.
Two boys aged 15 and 17 at the time have also been charged with Mr Bilic’s murder.
They were the second and third children charged with murder under Queensland’s “adult crime, adult time” laws and face mandatory life sentences if convicted.
Sky was remanded in custody and her case was ordered to return to court on December 9.
