I owe a special someone a big apology. My new psychic abused them in no uncertain terms. Oh dear. But let me back up.

I went to see a popular psychic in Melbourne named Bianca who told me that sometimes when she calls in people’s spirits who have crossed over, things can get a little confusing because all the dead people want to communicate with her. The tarot card reader correctly told me my mother’s mum had died and I was very close to her.

I was thinking to myself that this fortune teller maybe had a real connection with the spirit world. Bianca went on to say my gran was leading the way for me from above. I started to feel very lovely indeed, knowing my gran is my guardian angel.

And then Bianca asked me who the man was trying to talk to me whose name started with ‘M’. I must have looked confused as I furrowed my brows. My dad died six years ago but his name is Alexander Henry.

Hmm, I thought. Let’s do a mental checklist of all my beautiful dogs I have had to say tearful goodbyes to over the years: Dracula, Hugo, Louis, Ari. Nope. No names starting with the initial M.

So, I told Bianca I could not think who it could be trying valiantly to get my attention. Then, without any warning, she started to scream at the ceiling: “Get out! Right now! You germ! Get out! You are not welcome!”

I nearly died in fright. Think of Barnaby Joyce yelling, “Sit down!” to his poor dog and then you will know how loudly Bianca was shouting to this wayward spirit.

“Sometimes these spirits are neighbours or just plain rude and try to use my channel and your time you are paying for to get a message across. So, don’t worry. It is probably not a man for you,” Bianca calmly stated.

So, we moved on to talk about putting sage through my house and did a physical cleansing of bad spirits in my body.

I left feeling light and intrigued and did not think about the mysterious M man again until a few days later when I was telling my family about my reading. Then, it dawned on me. My father’s name is Alexander Muirhead. M. There is it.

It was probably dad trying to contact me and instead he was screamed at in anger. Sorry, dad! But I know you would be laughing wherever you are at the whole situation and your silly daughter.

Sami Muirhead is a radio announcer, blogger and commentator, wife and mum of three.
