The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious three-vehicle crash, which led to a woman being airlifted to hospital.
Initial investigations indicate that a grey Nissan Pathfinder collided with the rear of a white Toyota Yaris in the eastbound lane on Beckmans Road at Noosaville, on Wednesday, July 8 at about 3.20pm.
The Pathfinder veered into the opposing lane and collided head on with a black Suzuki Alto.
The driver of the Alto, a 48-year-old Tewantin woman, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital where she was in a critical but stable condition.
The drivers of the Pathfinder, a 44-year-old Black Mountain woman, and the driver of the Yaris, a 74-year-old Cooroy woman, sustained minor injuries.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.

Beckmans Road was closed while emergency services respond to the incident, with traffic diverted via the Doonella Bridge, which was temporarily reopened amid upgrade works at the request of Queensland Police to help motorists travel through the area.
Beckmans Road was then reopened on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Steve Irwin Way was also reopened on Wednesday night after it had been closed due to a crash.
