Plans have been revealed for the next phase of a tourist attraction revitalisation.
A development application has been submitted to make key changes to popular Amaze World at Tanawha.
Proposed improvements include: a new purpose-built admissions, retail and cafe building; improved undercover and weather-protected guest spaces; an expanded food offering including pizzas and enhanced cafe facilities; and improved operational efficiency and guest flow.
There could also be enhancements to the mini golf experience and additional puzzles and challenges.
Venue owner Adam Cheshire was optimistic that work could start within the next couple of months and the main building could be built by early 2027.
“We’re incredibly excited about this next transformative stage of Amaze World,” he said.
“Since taking over the business, our goal has always been to create something truly special for families on the Sunshine Coast: somewhere people can slow down, connect, and create lifelong memories together.
“This next stage is another really exciting step toward that vision.”
Amaze World opened in 1993 and it has become one of the Sunshine Coast’s most popular family attractions.
A revamp started in 2021.
The site now features one of Australia’s largest hedge mazes, mini golf, puzzles and interactive challenges, augmented reality experiences, and nature play spaces and gardens.

The venue hosts school excursions, children’s birthday parties and corporate and evening functions.
During peak holiday periods, Amaze World can welcome up to 10,000 guests per month.
Mr Cheshire said that the proposed next stage of works was a $1.5 million investment, and there could be more changes to the venue in years to come.
“Looking ahead, we certainly have more ideas for Amaze World, including additional attractions and experiences,” he said.
“However, our focus remains on thoughtful, staged improvements that continue to enhance the experience while respecting the character and natural environment of the property.”
