Police will prepare a report for the coroner following a sudden death at a mountain on the Sunshine Coast.

Police and emergency services were called to the base of Mount Tibrogargan, at the Glass House Mountains, on Thursday at about 8.40am, following reports a hiker heard someone calling for help.

A foot search of the area was undertaken and a female was located deceased just after 10.30am.

The incident follows the loss of two lives at nearby Mount Beerwah, last month, when an 18-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man fell.
