A luxury house, the biggest prize of its kind in Australia, is now up for grabs on the Sunshine Coast.

Dream Home Art Union is raffling a $13.9 million dream home package including $250,000 in gold, with proceeds to help thousands of veterans and their families.

The Sunshine Beach house features sweeping ocean views and a suite of wellness amenities including a pool, plunge spa, sauna, steam room, private gym and ice bath.

Dream Home Art Union general manager Lotteries Ben Sawkins detailed the residence’s attributes.

“The home has intentionally been designed as a private wellness retreat, inspired by Mediterranean health resorts which reflects the growing shift towards holistic wellbeing-focused living for Australians,” he said.

“It has all the features you would expect from a high-end resort.

“Designed by Paul Clout Design, the four bedroom home also includes a private lift, parents’ retreat, climate controlled cellar and fire pit with sweeping Pacific Ocean views.”

Raffle tickets cost $5.

“The odds of winning this dream home are better than the odds of winning Powerball and every ticket sold directly supports veterans and their families across Queensland,” Mr Sawkins said.

“Monies raised will be spent helping veterans secure accommodation, employment and improve their health and wellbeing.

“Out of all the prize homes I have worked on this would be my favourite.”

The prize package includes the home, styled with $391,000 in designer furniture and high-end appliances,

Styled with $391,427 in designer furniture and high-end appliances, $250,000 in Gold Bullion, rates and water expenses worth $10,100, legal transfer fees of $1880, and a $3000 travel voucher

Mr Sawkins said the winner also has the option of renting out the home for an estimated $156,000 a year.

Property specialist Sharon Whitlam said the property sets a benchmark when it comes to incorporating a wellness retreat into a residential setting.

She said wellness facilities are now one of the top requests in a dream home, not even mentioned a decade ago, while a home bar and billiard room has fallen down the list.

Ms Whitlam said there was a shift towards wellness in the everyday home, with Airtasker reporting a 70 per cent surge in sauna installations, and a global wellness report found a 21 per cent increase in people wanting wellbeing infrastructure in the home so they didn’t have to go elsewhere.

The draw closes on February 25 and the winner will be drawn on March 4. For more information see dreamhomeartunion.com.au/prize-homes/draw-430.
