A Sunshine Coast-based caravan manufacturer with about 250 employees has entered administration.

Restructuring advisory firm Cor Cordis has been appointed as administrator of Zone RV, which is headquartered at Coolum.

The appointment to Zone Manufacturing Pty Ltd and Zone RV Holdings Pty Ltd on December 1 was initiated by the director of the companies.

A media release by Cor Cordis said Zone RV is a recognised leader in the design and manufacture of premium off-road caravans.

“The administrators are conducting an urgent review of Zone RV’s financial and operational position,” it said.

“Their primary objective is to preserve value for all stakeholders, including approximately 250 employees, customers and suppliers, and to determine the strategic options available for the business moving forward.

“Zone RV has built a strong reputation as a leading caravan manufacturer, renowned for its innovation, design excellence and commitment to comfort, while pioneering advancements in four-wheel technology.

“During the administration process, Zone RV will continue to trade in a substantially reduced capacity. At the same time, the administrators will work closely with the company’s management team, employees and key stakeholders to stabilise operations and explore restructuring opportunities.”

The Cor Cordis administrators are Rahul Goyal, Kate Conneely and Stephen Earel.

“Our immediate priority is to assess all viable options that maximise outcomes for all stakeholders while exploring avenues for a sustainable future for the brand,” Mr Goyal said.

ASIC documents list David Biggar as the director of both Zone RV companies.

Sunshine Coast News reported in 2022 that Zone RV was investing in a new $7.5 million facility in the Coolum Eco Industrial Park.

People took to social media after the announcement was made to share their experiences.

“Happened at 9:00 this morning, we came to work everything was normal till 8:30 when we all went outside and got made redundant,” one posted.

Another said: “Yep, work across the road and watched all the staff leave and security come and lock the gates.”

The Zone RV website says it has more than 25 years of combined experience in composite manufacturing across marine, aeronautical and civil construction industries.

“At Zone RV, we are proud to have a talented and dedicated team of over 250 staff across our two facilities located in the Coolum industrial estate. Each and every member of our team is committed to providing all customers with the ‘Summit Experience’, striving to exceed expectations and deliver exceptional service at every touchpoint.

“This level of commitment and dedication to customer satisfaction is what sets us apart and drives us forward in our mission to be the premier off-road caravan manufacturer.”
