A teenager has been flown to hospital after a serious vehicle rollover.
The Sunshine Coast-based and Bundaberg-based LifeFlight rescue crews attended the scene at Amamoor on Thursday, after they were tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland.
The critical care LifeFlight doctors and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedics worked with local QAS paramedics to treat two male patients in their late teens.
LifeFlight stated that one of them suffered suspected spinal injuries and was airlifted, in a serious condition, by the Sunshine Coast-based helicopter to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
The other suffered minor abrasions and QAS paramedics transported him by road to Gympie Hospital.
The Queensland Ambulance Service stated that they were called into action at about 4.05pm. The crash occurred along Amamoor Creek Read, near the junction with Red Gully Road.
The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew also airlifted a man from K’gari after his vehicle struck a washout on Thursday.
The helicopter was tasked to the island at 2.40pm and landed on a beach.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for suspected back injuries.
The man, aged in his 40s, was airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
Meanwhile, two people were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the corner of Maleny Kenilworth Road and Grigor Road at Maleny on Friday morning.
