The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious crash that occurred on Sunday morning.

The Queensland Police Service stated that initial investigations indicated that a silver Mazda hatchback was travelling eastbound at Cooroibah, at about 7am, when it left the road and rolled.

A passenger in the vehicle, an 18-year-old Tewantin man, was transported to hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old Carters Ridge man, and a second passenger, another 18-year-old Tewantin man, were not injured.

The Queensland Ambulance Service stated that paramedics, including a rescue helicopter attended the scene on McKinnon Drive, at 6.59am, and a patient was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information or relevant video footage to contact police.
