A police officer has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle, allegedly committed while off duty.
The 34-year-old male senior constable from the North Coast Region is due to appear in Noosa Magistrates Court on August 5.
Queensland Police issued a media release stating that he has been suspended from the service.
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” the QPS stated.
“This does not mean that the allegations against the member have been substantiated.”
