One of the most beloved op shops in the region has relocated and reopened with a promise of an even better range of clothes and collectibles.

Bloomhill Cancer Care’s Nambour Op Shop has moved out of the Hospital Road site and is now on Mitchell Street.

Bloomhill general manager Mervat Quirke said the move marked an exciting new chapter for the organisation.

“Covering a generous 408sqm with ample parking, the new location features a front retail shop and a spacious warehouse showroom which will stock an extensive and diverse range of items,” Mr Quirke said.

“Over the years we’ve built a great reputation across the Nambour region for our incredible range of clothing and shoes to small and large furniture, vintage treasures, appliances such as fridges and TVs (fully tested and tagged), bric-a-brac as well as fine and costume jewellery, collectables and even old coins.

“This new retail centre isn’t just about shopping, it’s about building community.

“We want this space to be welcoming and accessible, a place where locals and visitors alike can find affordable items while knowing their purchases are making a meaningful difference to support Bloomhill’s clients.”

The store is staffed by three dedicated team members and supported by about 10 volunteers every week.

“We have a great team but we are always looking for passionate volunteers of all ages, especially those who want to gain valuable retail experience while giving back and helping to sustain vital services for those touched by cancer,” Mr Quirke said.

“Eighty per cent of proceeds from Bloomhill’s network of nine Sunshine Coast op shops go directly to supporting cancer clients and their families through the Bloomhill Wellness Centre, so when you shop or donate at Bloomhill you’re helping reduce landfill while supporting life-changing cancer care right here on the Coast.”
