A woman has been flown to hospital after a crash in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight rescue helicopter was tasked at 4.25pm on Wednesday following the crash involving a vehicle and truck.

The incident occurred at the corner of Memorial Avenue and Eumundi Kenilworth Road, Eerwah Vale.

The aeromedical crew was able to land the helicopter on the road near the scene, which had been closed by emergency services.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedic worked with local paramedics to treat the patient for head and abdominal injuries.

A woman in her 30s was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

A police spokesperson said the Forensic Crash Unit was investigating.
