A man has died after a motorcycle crash in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The Queensland Police Service stated that a 21-year-old man was involved in a single-vehicle crash at Curramore Road at Witta on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services attended the scene about 11.30am, after receiving reports of a crash involving a green and black Kawasaki Vn1500.

Upon arrival, they located the rider, a Birkdale man, in a critical condition.

CPR was provided. However, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations were underway.

A QAS spokesperson had earlier told Sunshine Coast News that emergency services arrived on the scene and were assessing the man, who had sustained traumatic life-threatening head injuries.

Curramore Road is a hilly and sometimes-winding 15km stretch from Maleny-Kenilworth Road to the Maleny National Park.
