A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital after crashing at the entrance to a motorway.

The man, 21, was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with life-threatening shoulder and back injuries after the incident on Thursday night at 9.20pm.

He was in a stable condition on Friday afternoon.

The crash occurred at the on-ramp to the Sunshine Motorway, from Kawana Way.

A Queensland Police Service investigation was held.

“Investigations show the rider was allegedly travelling at excessive speed and crashed on entry to a roundabout,” a QPS spokesperson said.

“Police issued the man with two traffic infringement notices for driving without due care and attention costing $645 (three points) and exceed speed limit by more than 40km/h costing $1,854 (eight points).”

Meanwhile, the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal single-vehicle traffic crash at Southside near Gympie on early Friday morning.

Police and emergency services were called to Sorensen Road near Serenity Drive just before 1am to reports of a crash.

Initial investigations indicate that a grey BMW was travelling along Sorensen Street when it left the roadway and crashed.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Southside man, was declared deceased at the scene.

And the Burpengary Forensic Crash Unit has charged a 22-year-old woman after investigations into a fatal two-vehicle crash at Elimbah near Caboolture on March 24.

Police were called to Bigmor Drive around 7.30pm after a silver Mitsubishi ASX collided with a silver Ford Falcon.

The driver of the Ford, a 59-year-old Elimbah man, was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died on April 7.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 22-year-old Eliimbah woman, was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

The 22-year-old Elimbah woman has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance whilst excessively speed and did drive under the influence of liquor.

She is due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on June 17.
