Police are appealing for vision following a hit and run that left a woman with serious leg injuries last week.

The incident occurred in Maroochydore about 5.45pm on May 5, when a blue BYD Atto 3 was parked outside a residence on Vaughan Avenue, facing towards School Road.

Initial investigations indicate a second vehicle, possibly a dark-coloured Hyundai sedan, was driving in the opposite direction towards Millwell Road when it struck the BYD and continued driving.

A 24-year-old female passenger, who was attempting to exit the BYD at the time of the crash, sustained serious leg injuries and was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The driver of the BYD, a 43-year-old man, was physically uninjured.

Police are appealing to witnesses, particularly nearby residents with CCTV or anyone with relevant dashcam vision, to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
