Six teenagers have been arrested after police tracked two allegedly stolen cars on the Sunshine Coast in the early hours of the morning.

Police were called to an address at Lurnea Crescent, Mountain Creek, about midnight following reports that a silver Kia Carnival had been stolen.

A short time later, police located the car abandoned on Powers Road, Sippy Downs, and searched the area with the dog squad.

A 16-year-old Minyama boy was arrested at a bus stop on Dixon Road and has been charged with one count each of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, unlawful use of motor vehicle and unauthorised dealing with shop goods.

He is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 16.

The Kia Carnival will undergo forensic examination.

About 2.30am, police identified an allegedly stolen white Kia Cerato on Peter Crosby Way, Sippy Downs, and again on Pelican Waters Boulevard, Pelican Waters.

The Cerato had allegedly been stolen from a Wurtulla address between 11pm on April 8 and 6.45am on April 9.

Police tracked and intercepted the vehicle on Lake Vista Lane, Pelican Waters, around 2.40am.

Five people allegedly ran from the scene and after a search by police officers and the dog squad, four teenage boys were arrested in bushland opposite Twiddle Drive.

A fifth boy was located and arrested walking on Pelican Waters Boulevard shortly after.

A boy, 15, from Buddina, has been charged with one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle and is due to appear in Maroochydore Childrens Court on April 16.

Investigations are ongoing in relation to a 15-year-old Alexandra Headland boy, 15-year-old Bells Creek boy, 16-year-old Nambour boy, and 14-year-old Landsborough boy.

Investigations into both incidents continue.
