UPDATED: Coles is recalling various pre-packed spinach products sold in their supermarkets, stores and online in Queensland and northern New South Wales.

The grocery giant is calling back Coles branded spinach products, sold between Thursday, March 20 and Saturday, March 29 at supermarkets, stores and Online in Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT (including some products in South Australia and the Northern Territory) with use by dates up to and including April 9, due to a potential microbial (STEC) contamination.

The recalled product are:

  • Coles Spinach 60g, 120g, 280g and 400g
  • Coles Family Mix Stir Fry 400g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
  • Coles Spinach and Kale 300g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
  • Coles Spinach and Rocket 60g and 120g
  • Coles Beetslaw 320g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
  • Coles 4 Leaf Blend 200g
  • Coles 4 Leaf Mix 120g
  • Coles Baby Leaf & Beet Blend 150g
  • Coles Baby Leaf Blend 300g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
  • Coles Kitchen Green Goddess Salad 300g
  • Coles Mixed Leaf Garden Salad 180g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
  • Coles Mediterranean Style Bowl 185g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
  • Coles Beetslaw Bowl 180g
  • Coles Sweet Potato Superfood Bowl 180g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
  • Coles Kitchen Roast Pumpkin Fetta & Walnut Salad 265g
  • Coles Kitchen Pesto Risoni Salad 190g
  • Coles Kitchen Pots Egg And Spinach Pot 100g

Coles issued a recall stating that “customers should not eat these products”.

“Food products with microbial contamination may cause illness if consumed,” it said.

“Any customers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

“Customers can return the product to any Coles supermarket or Coles Local store for a full refund.

“Coles Online customers can receive a full refund or credit by contacting Coles Online Customer Care on 1800 455 400.

“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience.

“Customers seeking further information can contact Coles Customer Care on 1800 061 562.”
