A car that is becoming a favourite with Sunshine Coast driving enthusiasts has been recognised with a prestigious award.

The MINI Countryman has been awarded Best Small SUV Under $80,000 in the 2025 Drive Car of the Year awards, cementing its position as a standout in the category.

Coastline MINI Garage sales manager Mark Costi said vehicle’s distinctive design made it a perfect fit for the Coast lifestyle.

“The MINI Countryman is quickly gaining popularity among lifestyle enthusiasts and families on the Coast,” he said.

“We find people are genuinely surprised at the back seat and boot space this car offers, making it the perfect family car.

“Gone are the days of MINI being just mini. The iconic style is here to stay but MINI, as a luxury car option, has evolved for all demographics – whether size, comfort, performance, efficiency or price is your priority.”

Mr Costi said one lucky person was already driving their own Countryman thanks to his business and its support of a good cause.

“Late last year, one lucky winner drove home in a brand new MINI Countryman from Coastline MINI Garage as part of the charity MINI Raffle, where 100 per cent of ticket sales went to the National Breast Cancer Foundation,” he said.

The panel of judges for Drive’s Car of the Year praised the vehicle for its driving experience, premium interior and advanced technology, as well as its cabin space and flexible cargo space.

The latest-generation Countryman offers a choice of petrol or all-electric variants, and has a raft of modern safety features and seamless connectivity.

The MINI Countryman has scored a gong in the Drive Car of the Year Awards.
