A man has been taken to hospital after an alleged stabbing in Nambour last night.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the incident occurred in Nambour about 11.30pm.

“Police and emergency services were called to a Currie Street business following reports a 30-year-old Maroochy River man had been assaulted,” they said.

“Investigations indicate the 30-year-old man sustained a number of puncture wounds after becoming involved in an altercation with an unknown man out the front of the business.

“The unknown man fled the scene before police arrival.

“The 30-year-old man was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“No one has been charged and investigations are ongoing.

“Anyone with relevant information or vision is urged to contact police.”

The Queensland Ambulance Service reported that man had wounds to his head, neck and leg.

It initially said the man was in his 20s and was taken to hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.
