A motorbike rider has been taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition after a severe crash on the Sunshine Coast.

The Queensland Ambulance Service stated that the man, in his 20s, was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with serious head and groin injuries, after a crash with a vehicle at a T-intersection at Beerwah on Friday night.

The incident occurred at Roys Road and Mawsons Road at about 7.50pm.

A man in his 70s was not injured.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson stated that the incident was being examined.

“Investigations are underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash,” they said.

“Anyone with information or relevant footage is asked to contact police.”
