Golfers will take aim at a $20,000 hole-in-one at a new event on the Sunshine Coast.

The cash will be on offer at the inaugural Noosa Hills Par 3 Shootout, at Noosaville on Sunday, February 23.

The 18-hole stableford competition will also include nearest-to-the-pin prizes on every hole, placegetter prizes for scratch and handicap divisions, and $2500 for a course record.

Course CEO Neil Brennan said the event could attract players from interstate.

“The Noosa Hills Par 3 Golf Course is a hidden gem and we are excited to invite players from all over Australia to compete in the shootout,” he said.

“Whether you’re a seasoned pro, aspiring amateur or someone who just loves the game, it’s an event guaranteed to be enjoyed by all.

The picturesque ninth hole, where $20,000 beckons.

“And of course the excitement of winning $20K, if you manage to ace the ninth, is the icing on the cake.

“We can’t to see if someone takes it home: we really hope to see if go off.”

The cash prize will be on offer at the ninth hole, on the north course.

The course is nestled in bushland off Goldburg Court. It boasts 27 par-3 holes, a 9-hole golf course and an 18-hole mini golf course.

Tee times for the shootout will be from 6am, with $50 entry.
