A teenager has been involved in a serious e-scooter crash on the Sunshine Coast.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said the girl, in her mid-teens, was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition after falling at Alexandra Headland on Wednesday evening.

She sustained a significant head injury after the incident on sloping Woonum Road.

She was transferred to Royal Brisbane Hospital and was on Thursday in a critical but stable condition.

It’s believed no other people were involved in the crash.

Queensland police are investigating.

“Witnesses or anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident, is urged to contact police,” a spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 40s was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after a reported snake bite at a private address at Beerwah on Wednesday night. She was in a stable condition.
