A bold pink house near the beach is expected to sell for millions, after attracting the interest of international buyers.

No.2 Wellington Parade has made an impression on locals at Shelly Beach for years and now it’s making an impact on the property market.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom, six-car-space property dubbed the ‘Barbie Dreamhouse’ is set on 1123sqm and is a 150m walk to the beach.

But it’s the home’s vivid splash of colour that really stands out.

Belle Property real estate agent Jason Jaegar admitted it’s “not for everyone” but many people adore it.

“It’s 50-50: some people don’t like the pink and some people love the pink,” he said.

“I love it: it’s so cool.

“I’ve been driving past the house for years and I’ve always loved it. It’s just an awesome house.”

Mr Jaegar said droves of prospective buyers had expressed interest in the property.

“We’ve had really strong enquiries,” he said.

No.2 Wellington Parade, Shelly Beach, is hard to miss.

“The house is attracting the kind of people it would suit: bubbly, happy and flamboyant.”

“We’ve had interest from overseas, including Germany and England, and from around Australia.”

Mr Jaegar said the current owners had purchased the property about 18 years ago and revamped it about eight years ago, via builder Paul Currie, with a pink colour scheme.

“The colour is exactly what they wanted. It’s their favourite colour,” he said.

“It’s a fun house. It’s not too pretentious.

“It’s a great home where a family has grown. The two boys are probably in their early 20s now and I don’t think they want to leave because it has been such a great place to live.”

The home, which also has splashes of blue, has a large living area, indoor fireplace, modern kitchen, butler’s pantry and Italian tiles in bathrooms.

An outdoor entertainment area features a pool, bar and kitchenette. There’s also a rooftop deck, surfboard storage, security system and solar system.

“It’s like a resort. The house is built for relaxation,” Mr Jaegar said.

“It’s a great family home with everything you need on a big block of land.

“Being a beach house, there’s a bit of inspiration from Hawaii and other places.

“They (the current owners) are keen travellers so have put in a few touches from where they have been around the world.”

The property, which has ocean views, is in a highly sought-after suburb.

“Shelly Beach, Moffat Beach and Dicky Beach are always on everyone’s radar, but Shelly Beach is probably the most tightly held suburb on this end of the Sunshine Coast,” Mr Jaegar said.

It’s estimated that the property could sell in the high $3m or low $4m range.

The current owners are relocating to Dicky Beach.
