EARLIER, 29/12: Two children have been taken to hospital, one in a potentially life-threatening condition, after a crash in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

A girl and a young boy were injured after a vehicle went down an embankment near Broken Bridge Road at Conondale.

The eight-year-old girl was airlifted to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane with significant head, facial, leg and pelvic injuries.

The four-year-old boy suffered minor injuries and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Queensland Police told Sunshine Coast News that it appeared a parked vehicle rolled forward and down the embankment at about 8am.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew was tasked to a private property at about 8.45am and landed on a hill near the scene.
