A pub at a lawn bowls site has been relaunched as a modern Asian-inspired casual dining location.

The Your Mates BowlsPub, opened by Your Mates Brewery at the lawn bowls precinct at Cooroy early last year, has been rebranded as Crackerjack. The name is inspired by the 2002 movie starring Mick Molloy.

Spearheaded by executive chef Jake Pregnell, who has worked in some of South-East Queensland’s best kitchens like the multi award-winning Rick Shores, Hôntôand Spirit House, Crackerjack offers a mostly Asian-inspired menu.

Designed for sharing and savouring, each dish highlights bold flavours and premium ingredients.

Crackerjack’s dedicated dining space ‘Banquet House’ invites guests to enjoy casual dining, blending hints of an Asian culinary experience with the charm of 80-year-old lawn memorabilia for a unique atmosphere.

A selection of classic pub favourites remain on the menu to honour patrons who made the venue their go-to spot in recent years.

Some of the tasty options available at Crackerjack.

The restyled venue features a kids’ playground, air-conditioned interiors, a spacious outdoor dining area and a bowling green to keep the sport alive.

Large function rooms and private dining spaces – available for hire – cater for gatherings, while Your Mates brews are on tap.

Your Mates Brewing Co. co-founder Matt Hepburn was delighted with the revamp.

“We’re thrilled to unveil Crackerjack as Cooroy’s hottest new dining destination, led by executive chef Jake Pregnell,” he said.

“Crackerjack combines laid-back Aussie vibes with an enticing Asian menu that promises to tantalise your taste buds.

“It’s a lively space where families and food lovers can gather and enjoy unforgettable meals.”

Fellow Your Mates Brewing Co. co-founder Christen McGarry said the venue combined key elements.

“The lawn bowl community in Cooroy is at the heart of what makes this area unique,” he said.

The pub at the bowls venue has been rebranded as an Asian-inspired eatery.

“With Crackerjack, we’re not only honouring that cherished tradition but also evolving the dining experience to offer something fresh and exciting.

“We’re excited to welcome visitors from the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to enjoy this new chapter with us and discover everything that reflects the spirit of Your Mates.”

The venue’s grand opening weekend will start on Friday, November 22.

Bookings are essential. Visit Crackerjack Cooroy for menu and booking information.

Your Mates Brewery has also operated the YourMates BrewPub at Warana since 2018.
