Five patients, including a man in a potentially life-threatening condition, have been transported to hospital following a house fire last night.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said five of its crews attended the fire at a two-storey townhouse on Tepequar Drive, Maroochydore.

A man with burns to his back and arms was transported in a potentially life-threatening condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

A woman in her 30s in a stable condition, with burns to her feet and smoke inhalation, was also taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, while a man with a shoulder injury was taken to Buderim Private Hospital.

Two male children, a toddler and an infant, with smoke inhalation were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said emergency services were called just after 10pm.

“Police assisted in evacuating neighbouring properties, as the fire was brought under control,” they said.

“Once safe, the scene will be examined to determine the cause of the fire.”

The QFD spokesperson said the home was fully involved when they arrived, and crews ensured all residents were accounted for.

The fire was out just before 11pm, with firefighters continuing to monitor for hot spots.
