Friday, October 4, 1.45pm: Sunshine Coast beachgoers are being reminded to be wary of surf conditions during the long weekend.
Local beaches are expected to be packed and Surf Lifesaving Queensland lifesaving services manager Natalie Edwards urged locals and holidaymakers to follow lifesavers’ directions.
“We are anticipating a beautiful weekend …. we are anticipating a busy three days for our lifeguards and surf lifesavers.”
“We remind everyone, even those who frequent our beaches regularly, to only swim between the red and yellow flags at a patrolled beach during patrol hours.”
Friday, October 4, 1.45pm: Emergency services have converged on a crash on Brisbane Road at Mooloolaba.
The southbound lanes, near Culbara Street, were closed. Queensland Police urged people to avoid the area and to expect delays.

Thursday, October 3, 2.30pm: A stable patient was transported to Nambour Hospital following a reported snake bite to the leg at Woombye at 1.31pm.
Thursday, October 3, 1pm: A patient in a stable condition was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a trench digger rollover on Tanawha Road, Tanawha, at 11.34am.
Thursday, October 3, 9.10am: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the corner of Petrie Creek Road and David Low Way, Diddillibah, at 8.23am.
Thursday, October 3, 6.50am: A patient was assessed for smoke inhalation following a house fire on Landsborough Maleny Road at Landsborough at 5.51pm yesterday. The patient declined transport to hospital.
Wednesday, October 2, 5.45pm: Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who may be able to assist them with their investigations into the alleged assault of a 78-year-old woman on the Esplanade at Maroochydore (Cotton Tree) on September 15.
During the incident, the woman was allegedly struck to the face and was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for a facial injury.
The man pictured is believed to regularly play the saxophone in the park and may be able to assist police.
Investigators are appealing to the man, or anyone who recognises him, to contact police.
Wednesday, October 2, 4.20pm: One stable patient has been transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a vehicle and e-bicycle incident on Neptune Circuit, Noosaville, at 3.28pm.
Wednesday, October 2, 4pm: Paramedics transported one patient in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a two-vehicle crash involving a rollover on Broadmeadows Road and Evans Street at Maroochydore at 3.09pm.
Wednesday, October 2, 12pm: A stable patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a vehicle and motorcycle crash on Maleny Stanley River Road, Booroobin, at 10.12am.
Wednesday, October 2, 7.20am: Paramedics attended a house fire reported on Gloucester Road at Buderim at 2am. Two stable males were assessed, however no transports to hospital were required.
Tuesday, October 1, 12.55pm: A man has been transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a life-threatening condition following an incident while on a bike on Maroochydore Road, Maroochydore, at 11.59am.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the man was treated by paramedics after he experienced a significant medical episode while he was on the bike. The incident did not appear to be trauma-related.
Tuesday, October 1, 12.10pm: A single-vehicle crash has occurred on the Bruce Highway at Meridan Plains. Emergency services were on scene. The crash happened on the Caloundra Road off-ramp northbound towards Glenview. One or more lanes were affected and delays were expected.
Tuesday, October 1, 7.15am: A man in his 50s was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition following a reported snake bite to the ankle at a private Buderim residence at 7.32pm last night.
Tuesday, October 1, 7.15am: A woman in her 50s sustained facial injuries and was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after a two-vehicle crash on Karawatha Drive, Buderim, at 6pm.
