The co-founder of a reputed local brewery says it makes “perfect sense” to introduce ginger beer on tap to consumers.

Heads of Noosa Brewing Co director Craig Masterton said the region’s reputation for producing ginger led the business to implement its new initiative.

“This felt like a natural next step for us,” he said.

“Our customers have been asking us for a ginger beer for a long time, and we are lucky enough to live in region that is famous for its abundance of high-quality ginger, so it made perfect sense for us to create a Heads of Noosa ginger beer.”

Made with Australian-grown ginger with an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 4 per cent, it is available now at the Heads of Noosa Taproom at Noosaville and at select bars around Queensland.

Feedback from the brand’s fans indicate it has a solid ginger kick and just the right amount of sweetness.

Ginger beer is now on tap at Heads of Noosa Brewing Co and selected bars.

“Our local ginger supplier has told us that we’re using significantly more natural ginger juice than others and we feel that this really shines through in the flavour profile,” Mr Masterton said.

Launched as part of the core range, the beverage will be available year round and, although there have already been calls for it to be released in stubbies, at this stage it will be a tap-only product.

Heads of Noosa started in a Brisbane garage in 2010 and now operates out of a 1700sqm site in the industrial precinct in Noosa Heads, employing more than 40 staff.

When setting up the brewery and choosing a location, brothers Lance and Craig Masterton settled on Noosa Heads because they believed there was no better place to live and drink.

The beverage has a solid ginger kick and just the right amount of sweetness.

The business has won a swag of awards, including at the Australian International Beer Awards.
